HEATING TEMPERATURE CONTROLLERS

Precise control of the electric heating system is performed by means of a thermostat – temperature controller. It allows the set air or floor temperature to be maintained automatically. Each circuit is an independent heating system, which we can individually adapt to our needs. In the case of direct heating, the low thermal inertia makes controlling the floor temperature simple and very precise. During the stay of the household members at work or during the night, temperature may be reduced by means of programmable electronic thermoregulators with a clock, which allow for easy programming of temperature reduction at the right time. Thermoregulator with built-in WiFi module – TERMOFOL TF-WiFi enables remote programming from an application in your smartphone.

TYPES OF THERMOSTATS AND APPLICATIONS

Electronic programmable thermostat

Recommended for electric heating systems to ensure maximum thermal comfort. Real-time programming provides the temperature you set when you need it. When using a thermostat with a programmer, e.g. TF-H1 or TF-WiFi, you get a comfortable temperature at specified hours. The programmable thermoregulator is economical to use. The thermostat switches on the heating for a few hours during the day, when we are in the living room for example, and during the rest of the day we reduce the temperature in order to minimize the operating costs. Thermostats with a programmer are a bit more expensive, but the investment pays for itself quickly because traditional thermostats keep the temperature throughout the day.

Floor sensor thermostat

recommended for the control of electric underfloor heating, the purpose of which is to ensure the comfort of a warm floor – e.g. in the bathroom.

Thermostat with two sensors (air and floor)

recommended for heating when it is the only heat source. The thermoregulator maintains the set air temperature, while limiting the floor temperature.

Air sensor thermostat

recommended for wall, ceiling and radiant heating.

FAQ

As the name suggests, the role of the thermostat is to keep the temperature at a pre-set level. In the case of an electronic thermoregulator, this is much more precise because, depending on your needs, you can program the temperature controller to lower or raise the temperature in a range of specific values.

Each thermoregulator is additionally equipped with a sensor, which allows to monitor the temperature values in a given place in real time. Depending on this, it increases or decreases the heating capacity. In addition, models equipped with electronic clock thermoregulators allow you to set a specific temperature value at a specific time. So, do you want your house warm when you get home from work? No problem – just select the right temperature and program it for a specific time!

One of the information we always find in the electronic thermostat technical data are their operating modes. They are hidden under enigmatic names in English, for example FLOOR, ROOM or ALL. How to understand these parameters?

FLOOR mode means that the floor temperature sensor is active. This mode is activated when the electronic thermostat is programmed to control the underfloor heating. When FLOOR mode is activated, the other modes are inactive – for example, the internal temperature sensor operation. It is described below!

The ROOM mode, which we briefly mentioned above, simply means the operation of the internal temperature sensor. This one controls the heat in a given room. It is activated when a particular thermostat is used to control a temperature other than the underfloor heating of the module.

What is the ALL mode? This is an indication of the simultaneous operation of two different sensors. The internal one is designed to check the room temperature, while the floor one controls the floor temperature. The ALL mode is used when the underfloor heating is to be the main room heating system.

What types of thermostats are available on the market? For which specific applications can they be used? Below we present the most important features of various types of electronic thermostats:

1. For a warm floor – a device equipped with a floor sensor is an ideal solution. It’s the best option to control underfloor heating in a bathroom or other places.

2. For wall heating – the best solution here will definitely be a thermostat equipped with an air sensor.

3. For ceiling heating – in this case it is worth using electronic thermostats with an air sensor.

4. For heating by means of radiant heaters – another situation where an electronic thermostat with an air sensor will work perfectly.

A thermostat must be installed in each room. This guarantees the highest thermal comfort and minimises operating costs.
